Circulated Silver Barber Dime Grab Bag (90% Silver) 50 Piece Lot ($5 Face Value) In Plastic Storage Tube
The Barber (or Liberty Head) coin series are composed of .900 silver and consists of three different denominations; dimes, quarters, and half-dollars. All Barber coins were minted from 1892-1916 (excluding the half-dollar, which was not struck during the final year of the series). The preceding Seated Liberty coins (1838-1891) began losing popularity by the late 1880s sparking Mint Director Edward Leech to order a competition for a new design. When artists invited to partake in the event did not participate, Leech opened the competition to the public. Unfortunately, none of the submissions proved to be suitable causing Leech to turn to his Chief Engraver, Charles E. Barber, for whom the series was named.

The reverse shows the words “ONE DIME” framed by a wreath almost identical to that of the Seated Liberty Dime.
