This Christmas season has come quicker than most. With just a little over a month away, we have been filling our shelves with Christmas silver bullion for months, preparing for all the stockings to be stuffed with the gift that keeps on giving! As we weave our way through the telling of our designs featured in this year’s Christmas collection, we wanted to impart a theme that may be more pertinent than ever to remember.
A Christmas Carol is a story by author Charles Dickens originally published on December 19, 1843. The tale describes the story of one Ebenezer Scrooge, an elderly man who many would describe as a stingy being, and quite a stiff one at that. Visited by his old business partner, Jacob Marley, and three ghosts throughout this tale, Scrooge’s heart transforms and he becomes a kinder, softer man.
The theme of the story has been reflected on ever since its release as it reminds people to be not only kind to others, but to help them if they are able. While chasing wealth became a priority for Scrooge, nothing could replace the truly valuable things in life such as family, friends, joy, love, and grace, something he missed out on for years. Although he was met with redemption towards the end of the story, it reminds us to live our lives in a way that emphasizes compassion, charity, and forgiveness.
