The obverse depicts the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, and the monetary denomination. A reminder of the original design, it includes a privy mark depicting a wedge-tailed eagle about to land on the branch of a dead tree. The coin incorporates a pure gold centerpiece portraying a wedge-tailed eagle soaring on a background featuring geometrically arranged elements that suggest a sunburst. The platinum ring includes the inscriptions ‘AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE’ and ‘10TH ANNIVERSARY’. Also included on the reverse is the coin’s year-date and a ‘P125’ mintmark signifying The Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary.
