The first major release for the United States Mint in terms of the American Eagle Program will be in the form of the 2024 Proof American Silver Eagle from West Point. Scheduled for release today, January 16th, at 12pm EST, you can add the popular collector edition coin to your portfolio for $80.00.
The one Troy ounce .999 fine silver coin will feature the ‘W’ mintmark on the obverse and feature a reeded edge variation for security. This added protection was introduced in 2021 when the reverse design changed.
Struck in a Proof finish, the Proof American Silver Eagle will have a household limit of 25.
In addition to the 2024-W Proof American Silver Eagle, the Mint will also release the Congratulations Set in Original Government Packaging. This is on track with previous years, releasing the two items simultaneously as there is also a 2024-W Proof Silver Eagle featured in the annual set.
The Congratulations Set has a product limit of 55,000 with an initial household order limit of three. It will be available for $82.00. A Certificate of Authenticity is printed on the back of the folder that encloses the coin as the coin specifications are included on the back of the sleeve.
