The design itself is styled after the Buffalo Nickel coin, also known as the Indian Head. Minted from 1913 to 1938 by the U.S. Mint in copper and nickel composition, the coin was designed by James Earle Fraser. Buffalo Nickels have long been a popular coin for numismatic collectors and our one-troy-ounce silver replica is equally popular among silver stackers.

The obverse of the Replica is reminiscent of the Indian Head or Buffalo Nickel with the motto "LIBERTY" curved around the upper right rim. The reverse features the bison/buffalo in the center with the motto "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "E PLURIBUS UNUM." Designating this piece as silver bullion are the words "1 OZ. .999 FINE SILVER."
