Back in 2017, the United States Mint introduced the American Eagle One-Ounce Palladium Bullion Coin Program. It was then followed up with a Proof version in 2018 and a Reverse Proof version in 2019. However, it was not until 2020 that we saw the first ever One-Ounce Palladium American Eagle in an Uncirculated finish. It has been since then that we have seen another. That is, until now!
Starting today at 12pm EST, the 2023-W One-Ounce Uncirculated Palladium American Eagle will be available from the Mint!
Struck at West Point in .9995 palladium, the obverse features a high relief likeness of Winged Liberty as seen on the Mercury dime, which was designed by Adolph A. Weinman. “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” “2023,” and Weinman’s initials are inscribed on the design. The reverse depicts a high relief version of the 1907 American Institute of Architects Gold Medal reverse, which was also designed by Weinman. “UNITED STATES of AMERICA,” “$25,” 1 OZ. Pd” (the chemical symbol for palladium), “.9995 FINE,” and “E PLURIBUS” are also seen inscribed.
With a mintage and product limit of 6,000, each coin will come in a plastic capsule inside of a black box. It will also be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity. The household limit is set at 10.
