2024 marks the 38th anniversary of the release of Gold American Eagle coins from the US Mint. These BU GAEs bear the 2024 year-date on the obverse and do not have a mint mark and feature the 2021 re-designed eagle reverse of a closeup of an eagle's head staring off into the distance. The obverse features Augustus Saint-Gaudens modified rendition of Liberty and the new reverse is Jennie Norris' "eagle close up/staring into the distance".
