In 1924, the Philadelphia Mint produced 4,323,500 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles. The coin is made of 90% gold and 10% copper, with a total weight of 33.436 grams. The 1924 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle is a gold coin that was part of a series of $20 gold pieces designed by the famous sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. These coins are considered some of the most beautiful coins in American numismatic history.

1924 $20 Saint Gaudens AU Condition

On the obverse side of the coin, Liberty is depicted standing on a rock, holding a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. The word "LIBERTY" is at the top surrounded by stars, and the date is stamped on the right side above the rock. The reverse side features a crescent sun at the bottom, appearing as if rising on the horizon with long rays extending to the top of the coin. A flying eagle covers the central portion, positioned atop the rays. The words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "TWENTY DOLLARS" are on the top periphery.
