Ericca H., Fulfillment
It has been a while since we have done one of these profiles for a number of reasons. The first reason: COVID-19. Enough said. The second: as a small family-owned business, employees to feature were running out as we did start this series back in November of 2018. However, as time passes, employees come and go and so we decided it would be a good idea to introduce some of our newer hardworking employees starting with Ericca.
Beginning Job Title: “My hire date was August 30th, 2020. I started in the shipping department."
Current Job Title: “I now have moved over to fulfillment handling silver bullion orders. I took over Lis’ job when she retired at the end of last year. I still help ship when I’m needed or if I’m not as busy filling orders.”
Favorite Part of Her Job: “I enjoy filling orders and working with everyone here. I like that I get to move around a lot and it’s not just sitting at my desk all day. I definitely get my steps in.”
Biggest Surprise About the Business: “I did not realize that silver was in that much demand. It has definitely been something I’ve had to get used to dealing with all the monetary value of what we are selling, filling, and then shipping. It’s a lot to learn, and at first I was a little hesitant and afraid.”
Moment That Has Stuck Out the Most: “When I was hired last summer, COVID was obviously something that stuck out to me. There were a number of people working from home and we were wearing masks and so I didn’t really get to meet or speak to everyone that works here for quite a while. Everyone started coming back I think in late April or May of this year.”
What She Looks Forward To: “I look forward to the stability of being a long term employee.”
Additional Thoughts: “My last job was similar in that I did fulfillment but it was a lot of hours. This job is great because it’s perfect for my home life. I get to spend more time with my kids which is important to me, especially as they are getting older and busier.”
Favorite Period Of Music: “I listen to everything, really. I don’t have any particular favorite.”
