You have probably read a number of awareness blogs here at The Vault Blog. While we promote our Awareness .999 fine silver medallion piece as a supportive gesture and gift to someone battling or that has battled a cancer related illness or disease, the blogs are our simultaneous attempt at bringing awareness to those challenges we face every day. Whether it be our own lives or someone close to us or simply someone we know of, the truth of the matter is that everyone in this world is affected by cancer.
National Cancer Survivor Month - Lavender
The month of June brings light to all those who have battled cancer and continue doing so. In celebration of the nearly 17 million cancer survivors across the country, according to the National Foundation for Cancer Research in an article from June 2020, this month is recognized to celebrate milestones and all those who have supported the survivors along the way.
While many may think that once cancer treatment ends for someone all the challenges go away, it is a harsh reality that they are faced with a set of new challenges while periodically checking in to see if they remain cancer free. Financial, emotional, and physical challenges will occur in addition to some struggling with survivor’s guilt. The month-long campaign is aimed at honoring those survivors in addition to assisting them with moving forward. Shared resources, emotional support, and the adaptation to a new normal is important for cancer survivors and the community in which they share.
Lavender Ribbons Supporting Other Causes
