The 2016 America The Beautiful Quarters consist of Shawnee National Forest in Illinois, Cumberland Gap National Historical Park in Kentucky, Harpers Ferry National Historical Park in West Virginia, Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota and Fort Moultrie (Fort Sumter National Monument) in South Carolina.

All of the coins are struck in proof quality at the San Francisco Mint and has the S mintmark on the obverse. The packaging was designed for 2016 featuring the Fort Moultrie (Fort Sumter National Monument) on the front and a split image on the back featuring all five sites from the 2016 quarters.
