2013 Coin Shows
Even with the plethora of electronic devices available and an internet connection pretty much everywhere you go, traditional coin shows still have their place in the numismatic world. For one thing it can be a lot of fun to attend a show! These events offer you a chance to meet with many dealers and other coin enthusiasts face-to-face, listen to great presentations on the hobby you love, take advantage of educational opportunities, participate in live auctions, and of course buy, sell or trade coins and other numismatic treasures.
Coin shows can be hosted by local and regional coin clubs, or by larger promotional companies or industry organizations. Like other niche shows, coin shows come in all sizes – from smaller shows featuring a couple dozen dealers, to larger shows held in major convention centers with a bourse floor featuring hundreds of dealers. The bourse is the main floor area of a coin show (sometimes the only area) where dealers rent table space in order to deal with other dealers and the public. The word itself is French and refers to “an area of a convention or show where buying and selling takes place”.
SilverTowne numismatic experts and other representatives attend various coin shows across the country each year to meet hobbyists, collectors, investors and anyone else who has an interest in coins and precious metals. We’re always looking to buy, sell and trade coins too! Below is a schedule of upcoming shows that we have on the schedule so far for 2013. We update our schedule often, with more shows being added as we are able, so be sure to check our website for the most up-to-date coin show schedule when making plans to come see us.
