1868 Shield Nickel Good to Very Good Condition
The 1868 Shield Nickel in G/VG (Good to Very Good) condition is a valuable and historically significant coin. The obverse (front) of the coin features a representation of Liberty facing left, wearing a shield and a coronet inscribed with the word "LIBERTY." The reverse (back) displays a large numeral "5" within a wreath of laurel leaves and rays, with the inscription "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" and "CENTS" around the perimeter.

In G/VG condition, the coin will show moderate to considerable wear, but key design elements will remain visible. Liberty's head may be worn but recognizable, and some of the detail in the shield may be worn down. The reverse design elements will also show wear but should still be discernible.
