1883 Liberty V - Nickel Without Cents Very Fine to Extra Fine Condition

The obverse (front) of the coin features a left-facing portrait of Liberty wearing a coronet inscribed with the word "Liberty." The reverse (back) initially omitted the word "CENTS" from the design, leading to confusion and counterfeiting. The design was later modified to include the word "CENTS" below the Roman numeral "V" to distinguish it as a nickel coin and prevent counterfeiting.

In VF/XF condition, the coin will have moderate wear but will still retain sharp detail in many areas. Liberty's portrait will show some wear on the high points but will still exhibit distinct features such as the coronet and facial features. The reverse design will also show some wear but will retain most of its original detail.
